Everyone who has addons has a few they can't live without. My absolute most favorite addon is Vuhdo. It's a comprehensive healing/decuring/raidframe addon. It tracks HoTs and debuffs and raid icons, and of course the health of all your raid members.
Setting it up as a first time user can be a little bit intimidating. Tam at righteous orbs used to have a guide, but the blog is defunct and the guide was a little old. Here's my version after the jump!

Healing Questionaire
Post this questionnaire, with your answers, on your blog. Pick the healing class you know most about (or is the focus of your blog) for the questionnaire, and then send it over to another healing blogger you know and love who heals with a DIFFERENT class. Include a link to the blogger who sent you the questionnaire, as well as a link to the blogger to whom you are sending it.
1. What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Millidin, Tauren Restro Druid
2. What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) Mostly 5-mans at the moment, but should be back to 10's after a bit of a break from WoW
3. What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Lifebloom, Procs Omen of Clarity, refreshed by Nourish, and if you accidentally let it fall off it blooms for a nice heal so no one dies, and it's even better in tree form!
4. What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Regrowth, it's expensive. I also don't use tranquility as much as I probably should.
5. What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Endurance and being able to keep moving. I don't have to stand still to roll HoT's and can get out of stuff super quick, while healing, and with inervate and a mana pot, I'm good the whole fight long.
6. What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? No cooldowns to speak of. I mean, Tree form could be considered a cooldown, but, really, it's not. I use it as a personal defensive cooldown with barkskin more than anything.
7. In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? 25's what are those? I'm primarily a tank healer in 10's, and would probably do the same no matter the raid size.
8. What healing class do you enjoy healing with most and why? Holy priests and paladins. They bring the cooldowns I'm missing, and I fill in the cast time gaps with HoTs.
9. What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Other druids, they'll roll on my gear :P. But really, I like all healers. As long as we know what the others are doing, things will work.
10. What is your worst habit as a healer? Panicking. Results in bad mana use. Also not using the limited cooldowns that I have. I haven't been a tree in weeks! Also, compulsive dispelling. The debuffs where you have to clump up or spread out first, then dispell are a death sentence in my raid.
11. What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? Lack of comunication in pugs.
12. Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? Yeah, I'd say so, but I would like my more powerful AoE healing abilites from Wrath back.
13. What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? Is everyone still alive? We did good! Other than that, I have Skada and look at the distrubition of spells, and who I'm healing, yada yada. The only time I really like to look at numbers and go "I WIN!" is looking at dispells.
14. What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That we're nothing but raid healers.
15. What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? How to learn to trust the HoTs.
16. If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Lack of use of cooldowns, I only have 1 why don't I use it?
17. Haste or Crit and why? Haste. Maybe Mastery, but HASTE nomnomnom.
18. What healing class do you feel you understand least? Shammans and Holy Priests. I have a Holy Pally, but I leveled my priest as disc, and I still don't quite get Shamys.
19. What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Vuhdo. Power Auras are also useful, but No Vuhdo, no heals.
20. Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? Well, haste, it's tasty, and mastery, since it stopped sucking, and other than that, I could forget I have other stats on my gear. Int's a given though.

Vote kicked
Being the one to be vote kicked from a group is an interesting experience. I know I've been kicked a few times for disconnecting, but to realize that someone kicked you from the group for being bad is a different experience entirely.
I have been kicked for being bad twice.
First, Milli zoned into regular Stonecore at level 83 to a group that looked like it should be running ramps. Meaning 4 DK's and a healer. The DK that was tanking ran into the first group, then the rest did, they all AoE'd and promptly died because both the earthragers turned into elementals, and I simply couldn't heal it.
We wiped, I ran back, and found myself not in a group.
The next time, I was healing H-SFK on Luna. For the 3rd boss, the one with the adds, we were going to do the courtyard strategy. The only way I've ever seen the boss get down to the courtyard is if a dps with a movement speed increase (or a healer with the same) aggros him and books it down to the courtyard.
But this group wanted the tank to slowly tank him down the stairs, and for me to stay with him and heal. I thought that it was going to be a grab it and book it sort of situation, and ran way ahead of the tank. Tank died, we wiped, it was my fault, I apologized, and got kicked anyways.
Part of me wants to know what each group was thinking when they kicked me. I'm wondering if the first group thought that they had some chance of success and that the healer was the only thing holding them back. I think their chances of success were rather low no matter what healer they got.
With the second group, they did it a different way than I was used to, and with the many available strategies for the current bosses, I should have asked exactly what we were doing.
I think that people should give pugs a little more leeway when it comes to how they do things in a dungeon. If your guild does something that is rather strange, let anyone you pug in know ahead of time so that they don't screw it up. You'll wipe less, you won't have to vote kick the pug, everyone gets badges and loot, it's a win win.
Just remember that pugs are people too!

On Alts, guilds, and ADD
I really didn't expect to hit the end of Wrath burnout that I did. But I dealt with it by leveling a small army of alts. The week before the shattering I had:
- 4 level 80's
- Druid - H
- Priest - H
- Hunter - A
- Paladin - A
- A level 73 rogue
- Various bank and other alts
The shattering opened up a lot of new interesting quest chains, so my little baby mage banker set out to do some of those and leveled from level 6-41 in a little over a week.
Then the expansion came out. I went from having not enough to do, to having no idea what to do first. I made my obligatory goblin and worgen, they are both sitting at around level 10. I dithered around on my druid doing archeology for about 2 days and questing and picking flowers, and not knowing quite where to start.
Now, at the beginning of December I made a list of who I would level first, and where they would go along the way. I had to throw that list out the window after about a week. I thought I was going to level my hunter and farm ore to give to my paladin to level her jewelcrafting, but no. It's a lot cheaper to just buy it off the AH (at least on my server A side) and save anything my hunter gathers for her own engineering efforts. I race changed my priest and thought that would help me get the urge to level her, but no. She and my hunter are still sitting at level 80, probably playing chess with each other. Well my priest isn't completely bored, I've been feeding her cloth and greens.
Of course I leveled my druid first. She's my main. I am mostly on top of all the resto druid goings on (I'm looking forward to 4.0.6 and the decrease in rejuv's mana cost, I might be able to raid heal again!), and she has a raiding guild that needs her. It would really make sense to level the alt that could help support her with enchants and stuff next.
But, noooooooo, I fell in love with my paladin while leveling her to 80, and want to get her to 85 next. Shockadin is really quite fun to level with. Plate wearing ranged dps FTW!
Here we meet some problems. The guild my paladin and hunter are in is basically a bank guild. It will take quite some time before I see any guild perks. I won't have anyone to run heroics with that I know. She did a lot of pugging on her way to 80, but those were much more forgiving conditions. I don't pug with my main, let alone an alt that is going to have much less time devoted to her gear, and support from guildies. I could try to find a guild for her (and for my friend's alliance side characters) that would have perks and the occasional tank that would take my side in things. But she's not a main. And when I get alt ADD again, I don't know if I will continue to play her much. Like my hunter.
Oh well, I'll figure something out.
